Who we are and what this app does

Rent vs Buy is a wealth simulator that lets you compare net worth over time under rent vs buy scenarios. All simulation data stays on your device unless you explicitly save it locally. We do not require an account or any personal information to use the app.

Data we collect and why

We use PostHog for product analytics. If you accept analytics when prompted (cookie banner), we collect:

• Usage events (e.g. that you ran a simulation or saved one)
• Device/browser type and approximate location (e.g. country)
• Pages and interactions within the app

We do not collect your name, email, or simulation inputs (numbers you enter) in analytics. We use this data only to understand how the app is used and to improve it. You can decline analytics at any time via the cookie banner; we will not set analytics cookies until you accept.

Third-party services

PostHog (posthog.com) processes analytics data on our behalf when you have accepted cookies. Their practices are described in their privacy policy. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Retention and storage

Analytics data is retained according to PostHog’s configuration and our need to improve the product. You can withdraw consent at any time; we will stop collecting new analytics data from your device from that point forward.
